More time is spent in data validation than any other step in the entire close process. How much of this time is truly value-add and how much could better be spent doing almost anything else? Whether we're reconciling accounts using traditional Oracle PM tools, Excel, Blackline, or the power of humans, our time is literally going towards seeing if this number equals that number. You might think you’re really good at it! I mean, cavemen were asking at a point in time, “Does this rock look like that rock?” But truthfully, this is not a good use of our higher-level thinking (we have, thankfully evolved).
Thankfully, we now have technology to handle this robotic process automation, and it's extremely quick to implement. Give us 60 days, and we'll give you the world (or at least, a large amount of your time back that you could then spend doing things like conquering the world). |
